Makhadzi alleges she is being held against her will in Botswana

South African singer Makhadzi says she has been stranded in Botswana since Saturday and is allegedly being prevented from leaving amid a dispute with a local promoter.

In a live video on social media, the award-winning musician alleged that Botswana promoter Gilbert “PP Wa Pimp” Seagile had taken her passport, vehicle and belongings following a financial dispute.

The disagreement reportedly relates to a previous performance and promotional work for her upcoming One Woman Show.

Seagile has worked with Makhadzi since at least 2023, when his company, Gilbert Promotions, was appointed to manage her bookings and business dealings in Botswana.

Makhadzi’s One Woman Show is scheduled to take place on 24 December 2026 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo.

The allegations have not been independently verified, and Seagile’s response to the claims was not included in the information available.
