The Facebook page of March and March Movement leader Jacinta Zinhle MaNgobese Zuma has been suspended pending review.
The reason for the suspension has not yet been established. However, there are indications that several users may have reported the account before it was taken down.
The movement’s spokesperson confirmed the development in a statement, saying the organisation had become aware that the page had been removed.
“We have just noted that South Africa’s most influential page of the leader of March and March Movement, Jacinta Zinhle MaNgobese Zuma, has been taken down,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that Ngobese-Zuma would continue communicating with supporters and the public through the official March and March Facebook page while the matter was being addressed.
“In the meantime she will engage South Africans via the March and March Facebook Page to keep you abreast of developments. We will release our media statement shortly,” the statement read.
The spokesperson ended the message with the movement’s slogan, #UntilWeWin.
The movement has indicated that a more detailed media statement will follow. Meta has not publicly provided a reason for the suspension.
