Dagada alleges 19 hitmen followed him and tried to kill him over $19-billion money-laundering claims

Mpho Dagada has made explosive allegations that 19 alleged hitmen followed him to an airport and were trying to kill him after he claimed to have uncovered a $19-billion money-laundering operation.

In a series of social-media posts, Dagada said the alleged hitmen followed him as he attempted to leave the country, claiming that they would book the same flights regardless of which flight he chose.

“They had 19 hit men following me at the airport when I was trying to run away from them, whatever flight I booked these hit men would book the same flight.”

Dagada further claimed that $5 million had allegedly been offered to anyone who killed him.

He has linked the alleged threats to claims that $19 billion was laundered through a political party account.

Dagada also accused people associated with the alleged operation of controlling security footage at Sandton City and claimed that he was being targeted because he had raised questions about the alleged transactions.

In another post, he claimed that he was the political party’s signatory and questioned how a subpoena could allegedly be placed on the party’s bank account.

The allegations are serious but have not been independently verified. There is currently no confirmed evidence establishing the existence of the alleged 19-person hit squad, the alleged $5-million bounty or the claimed $19-billion money-laundering operation.

Dagada has repeatedly said that his life is in danger and has called on his followers to preserve and share his posts.

His latest allegations come after he previously warned followers that if he failed to go live, they should assume that he had been killed. He did not subsequently go live as promised, although his public social-media activity has continued. (LinkedIn)

The claims remain allegations, and it is not yet clear whether law-enforcement authorities have opened an investigation into the specific allegations Dagada has made.
