A court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Ngizwe Mchunu and sentenced him to 10 days’ imprisonment after finding him in contempt of court in his legal dispute with Julius Malema.
The sentence and arrest warrant have reportedly been suspended on condition that Mchunu complies with a number of court-ordered requirements.
According to the ruling, Mchunu must publish an apology on his social media platforms and keep it visible for a period of six months. The apology must also be submitted to the court.
In addition, he has been ordered to record a video apology, which is to be published on the TikTok account of King Zoso.
The court further ordered Mchunu to pay the legal costs incurred by Malema’s legal team.
The matter stems from allegations made by Mchunu that Malema had received R60 million from Nigerian drug dealers. The claims were challenged in court, and Mchunu was subsequently ordered to stop making the allegations and issue a retraction.
Failure to comply with the latest court order could result in the suspended arrest warrant being executed and the 10-day jail sentence being enforced.
