Brian Padayachee, a Senior Investigator at the Independent Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC), is testifying before the Madlanga Commission.
His appearance comes after KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi alleged that Padayachee had been appointed to a senior position without the necessary qualifications and requirements.
While addressing the commission, it emerged that Padayachee has more than 40 years of investigative and policing experience, which forms part of the evidence being considered by the commission.
The Madlanga Commission continues to hear testimony from key witnesses as it investigates allegations relating to corruption, governance and law enforcement.
