Mpho Dagada goes silent after saying failure to go live would mean he had been killed

Concern is growing over the whereabouts of Mpho Dagada after he went silent following a series of alarming posts in which he claimed that people were following him and trying to have him killed.

The concern intensified after Dagada made a chilling promise to his followers on Thursday night.

“If I don’t go live tonight, just know that they have killed me.”

Dagada never went live.

His warning came after hours of increasingly alarming posts in which he claimed that he was being followed at different locations, including OR Tambo International Airport.

At one point, Dagada alleged that 19 hit men were following him at the airport and claimed that money had been offered to anyone who killed him.

“Guys I am not safe, my life is in danger, they want to kill me.”

He also claimed that a man had followed him to OR Tambo Airport and repeatedly appealed to his followers to screenshot and share his posts, saying that people were allegedly hacking his devices and deleting his social-media content.

Dagada further made serious allegations involving alleged money laundering through a political party account, claiming that billions of dollars had been laundered. Those allegations have not been independently verified.

His final posts have now left followers asking what happened after he said he would go live.

He did not.

As of Friday morning, there had been no public live broadcast from Dagada confirming his safety following the warning. His publicly visible LinkedIn activity showed posts from several hours earlier in which he continued making allegations about people he claimed were targeting him.

The silence has inevitably heightened concern because of the exact warning Dagada himself issued: that if he failed to appear live, his followers should assume he had been killed.

There is, however, no confirmed information that Dagada has been killed, kidnapped or physically harmed.

His earlier claims about being followed and targeted also remain allegations that have not been independently verified.

For now, the question being asked by those following the situation is simple:

Where is Mpho Dagada?
