Julius Malema Demands R1 Million Apology from Ngizwe Mchunu

Julius Malema has issued a legal demand to Ngizwe Mchunu, seeking a public apology and R1 million in damages following allegations that he was paid millions by foreign nationals.

Malema’s legal team has formally written to Mchunu, demanding that he retract and apologise for claims that the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader received R60 million from Nigerians in exchange for defending them.

According to the letter, Mchunu has been given 24 hours to issue a public apology and pay R1 million, failing which legal action will be instituted against him.

The lawyers argue that the allegations are false, defamatory, and damaging to Malema’s reputation, particularly given his public profile and political standing.

The dispute stems from remarks allegedly made by Mchunu suggesting that Malema’s stance on foreign nationals was influenced by financial gain — claims the EFF leader strongly denies.

If Mchunu does not comply with the demands within the stipulated timeframe, the matter is expected to proceed to court, where Malema may pursue further legal remedies.
