Two suspects arrested in connection with the murder of media personality Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning.
The suspects were initially taken in for questioning during the early hours of Monday, before being formally arrested as investigations progressed.
Stock was fatally shot last week outside a building in Johannesburg’s city centre. Police later confirmed that three unknown gunmen were captured on surveillance footage opening fire before fleeing the scene.
It is believed that Stock was outside the building at the time of the shooting, where his company had been contracted to provide security services.
His death sent shockwaves through the media and entertainment community, with friends, colleagues and supporters calling for those responsible to be brought to justice.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the two arrested suspects are among the individuals seen in the surveillance footage. Authorities say investigations are ongoing and that the search for additional suspects continues.
The body of Warris Stock is expected to be cremated this Wednesday morning in a private ceremony in Johannesburg.
