Sergeant Fannie Nkosi Appears in Court After Allegedly Tempering With Dagga Evidence

It is reportedly becoming increasingly difficult for Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, who is expected to appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court today after being slapped with additional charges linked to an alleged interference with a police investigation.

According to allegations, on 10 November 2022, a suspect was arrested in possession of dagga, an illegal firearm and explosives during a police operation.

Investigators claim that Sergeant Nkosi later arrived and allegedly collected the case docket, claiming he had been sent by head office.

A few months later, Nkosi allegedly returned and reportedly identified himself as a Colonel from Head Office, before taking the cannabis that had been seized from the suspect, allegedly saying it was being taken to head office.

However, authorities later allegedly discovered that the evidence had been tampered with and opened, raising serious concerns about interference in the case.

Nkosi is now expected to face a charge of defeating or obstructing the administration of justice, as investigations into the matter continue.
