Mandla N and Miss Universe SA Melissa Nayimuli Announce Engagement in Thailand

Executive producer and Black Brain Pictures founder Mandla N and Melissa Nayimuli, Miss Universe South Africa 2025 and Miss South Africa 2023 contestant, are officially engaged.

The TV and film producer shared a video on Instagram capturing the moment he got down on one knee.

The proposal took place at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui, a picturesque resort on the secluded northeast coast of Koh Samui, Thailand. Fans and loved ones quickly flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages for the couple.

Nayimuli and Mandla N have been together for several years and made their relationship public in 2023 when they attended the 17th South African Film and Television Awards as a couple.

Their engagement comes shortly after Nayimuli competed in the 74th Miss Universe pageant, held in Thailand. She was recently announced by African Beauty International as Miss Universe South Africa 2025, representing the country at the global competition. Although she did not place in the top 30, Nayimuli won praise from pageant enthusiasts for her confidence and standout wardrobe.

The couple now joins a growing list of South African celebrities who have celebratedengagements in 2025, including actress Rorisang Mohapi and actor Prince Grootboom, content creator Nadia Jaftha and Reece Meyer, musician Oscar MBO and Lerato Phasha, and House of Zwide star Shalate Sekhabi and Wanda Zuma.
