South African media personality and musician Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub, has been arrested following an incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale. He is expected to appear before the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
According to police, the incident allegedly happened at around 7:30am after an e-hailing driver dropped off a female passenger at a residence in Edenvale. Police allege the suspect confronted the driver and accused him of being romantically involved with his girlfriend.
Police further allege that the driver was forced into another vehicle and prevented from leaving. During the confrontation, a firearm was allegedly discharged in the driver’s direction. The driver reportedly managed to escape unharmed and drove to a nearby police station to open a case.
Jub Jub was arrested and is expected to face charges including kidnapping, unlawful discharge of a firearm and defeating the ends of justice. Police say investigations are continuing.
