IShowSpeed Trends After South Africa Visit, Says He Never Wants to Leave

American streamer Darren Watkins Jr (20), popularly known as IShowSpeed, is trending at number one following his three-day visit to South Africa, during which he publicly expressed his desire to never leave the country.

IShowSpeed arrived in Cape Town earlier this week, where he was officially welcomed by Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis. The mayor shared their meeting on social media, captioning the post: “IShowSpeed, welcome to Cape Town.”

The globally recognised content creator is a self-made multimillionaire who achieved major financial success in his teens. He was recently named Streamer of the Year at the Streamer Awards held in December 2025. His estimated net worth is reported to be between $10 million and $30 million. One of his first major purchases was a house for his mother, a moment that previously resonated with fans worldwide.

Best known for his high-energy gaming streams and spontaneous entertainment content, IShowSpeed’s South African visit has stood out for its focus on cultural engagement rather than large-scale spectacle. Throughout the trip, he has shown visible appreciation for local culture, people and creativity.

He is currently in Johannesburg, where he has been spending time with South African creatives and public figures, including RobotBoii, King Omar, Bontle Modiselle, SK Original, NOTA, Mpho Popps and DJ Sbu, among others.

IShowSpeed has a massive global following, with more than 47.1 million subscribers on YouTube, and his South African visit has sparked widespread online conversation, with many local fans praising his openness and genuine interest in the country.
