South African vocalist Naledi Aphiwe has released her latest project, Umusa, a seven-track EP created in collaboration with Goon Flavour.
Released on 24 September, the project explores a dance-driven sound while retaining Aphiwe’s soulful vocal style. The EP features tracks including Ngeke, Sijabule, Ngowami, Lilizela, Dlozi Lami, Bayazibuza and Mina Nawe.
The project also brings several notable collaborations into Aphiwe’s latest musical chapter. Ngeke features Nontokozo Mkhize, Sijabule features Murumba Pitch, while Dlozi Lami features Nobuhle.
The release follows a run of new music from Aphiwe in 2026, including Ngowami, which was released earlier in September as part of the Umusa project. The track combines Aphiwe’s vocals with Goon Flavour’s electronic and 3-Step-inspired production. (
