Taxi boss and businessman Joe Sibanyoni says he is confused and shocked after his business associate, Thengane Tomas Ntuli, allegedly opened a case against him, saying he believed they had a strong relationship.
Speaking on the matter, Sibanyoni said he regarded Ntuli as a friend, adding that he never saw any signs that there were problems between them.
According to Sibanyoni, he had previously loaned Ntuli R900,000 during a difficult period, and the money was later repaid in full.
Sibanyoni said what makes the matter more surprising is that just two weeks ago, they attended another funeral together, where Ntuli allegedly showed no indication that there was tension or conflict between them.
The businessman says he is now left trying to understand what may have changed and why the matter escalated to a legal complaint.
