A 32-year-old woman, Stella Lenah Namakele, was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend in Ventersdorp on 4 April 2026.
According to reports, Namakele — who was pregnant at the time — was attacked in her home and stabbed multiple times during the incident.
Mother also injured in attack
Her mother, who was present during the attack, was also stabbed and seriously injured. She is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Suspect in custody
The boyfriend allegedly handed himself over to police following the incident and has since been arrested.
Another GBV tragedy
The case has once again highlighted the ongoing crisis of gender-based violence in South Africa, particularly against women in vulnerable situations.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations as the case proceeds through the justice system.
