Honeydew police have uncovered suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of R300 million during a raid on a plot in Northriding, Gauteng.
The operation took place at about 20:30 on Saturday, 12 September 2026, after officers received information about suspected drug activity at the property.
Police also seized a black Land Cruiser SUV, which allegedly had false registration plates and an altered vehicle identification number. No arrests had been made at the time of the latest police update.
Lieutenant Mpho Tshetlhane said officers acted on intelligence that led them to the suspected cocaine. Investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the haul and identify those connected to the suspected drug operation.
Tshetlhane said police would continue targeting drug trafficking through operations informed by intelligence.
“Police will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting the illicit drug trade and other serious crimes.”
Honeydew Community Policing Forum spokesperson Michael Steyn praised the two full-time police officers and two reservists who played a key role in the seizure.
