Police have revealed new details about the kidnapping of former SABC sports presenter Owen Ndlovu, who was abducted by three armed men while collecting his wife from church in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.
The incident took place at approximately 8pm on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
According to police, Ndlovu had arrived at the church to collect his wife when three armed men approached the couple.
The suspects allegedly pushed his wife aside before forcing Ndlovu into the back seat of his own Ford Raptor and driving away with him.
The vehicle has since been recovered abandoned, but Ndlovu remains missing.
The discovery of the vehicle has not yet led to Ndlovu being located, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Ndlovu’s wife witnessed the abduction and previously confirmed that armed men had taken her husband. The matter was reported to Katlehong police.
The latest information from police provides a clearer account of how the kidnapping unfolded, including the number of suspects and the recovery of Ndlovu’s vehicle.
However, the motive behind the kidnapping remains unclear. It has also not been established whether the suspects have made any ransom demands.
Ndlovu is a former SABC sports presenter and commentator who has also been involved in the music industry through Artists United.
Police investigations are continuing as officers work to locate him and identify the three armed suspects.
No arrests have been confirmed.
