A News24 investigation has reported that Zimbabwean pastor Witness Mazanga allegedly benefited from City Power contracts worth more than R500 million linked to the City Power Johannesburg in Johannesburg.
According to the report, Mazanga is allegedly known by multiple identities in South Africa, including Witness Mazanga, Thembinkosi Ndlovu and Witness Sithole. News24 reported that investigators are examining how the contracts were awarded and the relationships surrounding the procurement process.
The report further alleges that Mazanga’s brother holds a senior position within City Power, a detail that has drawn attention as questions continue to be raised around possible conflicts of interest and governance processes.
The allegations form part of a broader corruption investigation involving procurement at City Power, where authorities have been investigating transactions and tender awards valued at more than R500 million.
At this stage, these remain allegations linked to reporting and investigations, and no court findings on wrongdoing were cited in the report.
