North West businessman Solly Madibela, better known as MySol, has been the talk of the weekend after unveiling his R220-million mansion in Cape Town — and it sits right next door to DJ Black Coffee’s R157-million property.
The exclusive street, widely known as ‘Billionaire’s Road’, is now home to two of South Africa’s most talked-about success stories from very different worlds: global music and mining.
MySol marked the milestone with a lavish housewarming party for friends, associates, and family. The guest list included artists Mlindo The Vocalist and Babalwa M, with Penny Ntuli hosting as MC. Photos and clips from the celebration quickly spread across social media, cementing the mansion’s status as the newest symbol of luxury in the area.
The contrast between the two neighbouring estates has sparked plenty of conversation online. One user joked, “Clearly we were accompanying MySol and Black Coffee in this life”, capturing the mix of awe and humour around the staggering price tags.
MySol, real name Solly Soka Madibela, is the founder of MySol Holdings & Logistics, a North West-based mining and logistics company he launched in 2018. The company now operates eight chrome mining sites across the province and employs over 2,930 people. His rise from humble beginnings in Brits to owning one of Cape Town’s most expensive homes has made him both admired and debated in equal measure.
Black Coffee, meanwhile, built his fortune through years at the top of the global electronic music scene, making his R157-million hillside estate one of the most recognised celebrity homes in the country.
