Malema Accuses Newzroom Afrika of Bias, Broadcaster Hits Back

EFF President Julius Malema has accused Newzroom Afrika of pushing an agenda against his party, claiming the broadcaster does not give the EFF a fair right of reply.

Malema alleged that the channel consistently excludes the party from responding to issues, raising concerns about what he described as biased reporting.

Broadcaster Responds

In response, the editor of Newzroom Afrika has strongly rejected the claims, labelling them “fake news.”

The broadcaster maintains that its producers have repeatedly reached out to the EFF for comment, but say their efforts have often been ignored or cancelled at the last minute.

Claims of Targeted Agenda

Malema further alleged that the issue goes beyond the platform itself, claiming that individuals who previously pushed an agenda against the EFF at eNCA are now involved at Newzroom Afrika.

He suggested that these individuals are continuing what he believes is a coordinated effort against his party.

Ongoing Tensions

The exchange highlights growing tensions between political parties and media organisations, particularly around issues of fair coverage, editorial independence, and access to respond.

The dispute has sparked debate on social media, with some supporting Malema’s concerns while others backing the broadcaster’s version of events.
