Event Details

The awards ceremony is set to take place on 25 April 2026 in Durban, marking a major return of the prestigious event to the coastal city.

This year’s edition is particularly significant as it celebrates 40 years of Metro FM’s influence in South African music, with organisers promising a high-energy show featuring top local talent.

A Strong Hosting Duo

Kganyago, a seasoned presenter and DJ, described the opportunity as a “full circle” moment, having previously hosted the awards in 2023.

Maleka, on the other hand, expressed excitement about hosting the awards for the first time, saying he plans to fully immerse himself in the experience to deliver a memorable show.

Star-Studded Line-Up Expected

In addition to the main hosts, a number of familiar faces are expected to feature across different segments of the show — including red carpet coverage, backstage interviews and the green room — adding to the overall entertainment experience.

The announcement has been met with excitement from fans and industry peers, with many taking to social media to congratulate the duo ahead of what is expected to be one of the biggest nights in South African music.

The 2026 Metro FM Music Awards will be broadcast live, bringing together some of the country’s biggest artists, celebrities and performers for a night of celebration.
