EFF leader Julius Malema has denied all allegations linking him to any wrongdoing in an affidavit submitted to the Madlanga Commission, dismissing claims arising from alleged WhatsApp messages involving suspended Crime Intelligence boss Feroz Khan and businessman Mohamed Sayed.
Malema said he cannot verify the authenticity of the alleged WhatsApp messages exchanged between Khan and Sayed in which his name appears. He also denied allegations that he conspired to remove former Inspector-General of Intelligence Setlhomamaru Dintwe, saying there was no plot involving him.
The EFF leader further rejected claims that the Economic Freedom Fighters received any bribes, insisting there is no basis for the allegations raised before the commission.
Malema added that, as a Member of Parliament, it is normal for him to receive information from a variety of sources, including members of the police, and said this should not be interpreted as evidence of improper conduct.
The commission continues to examine evidence relating to the alleged WhatsApp exchanges and other claims involving Khan and his associates.
