The bail application of self-proclaimed SAPS informant Brown Mogotsi has been postponed to 28 May 2026, as authorities move to verify the residential address he provided to the court.
The postponement comes after concerns were raised regarding Mogotsi’s address during proceedings, prompting the need for further verification before a decision on bail can be made.
Earlier in court, Mogotsi maintained that he had submitted a legitimate address, with his legal team filing a supplementary affidavit in support of his bail bid.
The affidavit also reportedly sought to challenge allegations that Mogotsi attempted to bribe the investigating officer, claims he disputes.
Mogotsi, who is facing several charges linked to an alleged staged shooting incident in Vosloorus, recently told the court that he “has a lot to say”, but indicated he would speak further at an appropriate time.
The State has opposed his release on bail.
The matter will return to court on 28 May 2026, when proceedings are expected to continue following the address verification process.
