Brown Mogotsi Denied Bail as Court Raises Concerns Over Verifiable Address

Alleged political fixer and self-proclaimed SAPS informant Brown Oupa Mogotsi has been denied bail after a court found that his residential address could not be verified.

Delivering its ruling, the court expressed concerns that it would be difficult to trace Mogotsi should he attempt to evade trial, given the uncertainty surrounding the address he provided.

The magistrate ruled that the inability to verify his place of residence weighed heavily against granting bail.

Moments after hearing the decision, Mogotsi could reportedly be heard exclaiming, “Hebanna!” in apparent disbelief.

The court’s ruling means Mogotsi will remain in custody as legal proceedings against him continue.

The bail application has attracted significant public attention due to Mogotsi’s alleged links to influential figures and his claims of having acted as an informant for the South African Police Service.
