The African National Congress is facing questions after two companies reportedly informed the Electoral Commission of South Africa that they made donations to the party, while the ANC allegedly failed to declare the same contributions.
According to reports, Valumax Projects told the IEC that it donated R500,000 to the ANC in March 2026.
A second company, Captrust Investments (Pty) Ltd, reportedly declared a donation of R270,000 to the ANC in April 2026.
The combined value of the donations amounts to R770,000.
However, reports indicate that the ANC did not disclose these donations to the IEC, raising concerns about compliance with political party funding disclosure requirements.
The matter is likely to attract attention as political parties are required to declare qualifying donations in terms of South Africa’s political funding laws, which are aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in party financing.
It remains unclear why the donations were allegedly not reflected in the ANC’s disclosures, and the party has not yet publicly commented on the reports.
