Lobby group AfriForum held a meeting with Jacob Zuma, president of the MK Party, in Durban on Wednesday.
AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel said the discussions focused on the importance of mother-tongue education, mutual respect, and broader national challenges facing South Africa.
Kriel acknowledged that while the two parties hold differing views on certain issues, the meeting was aimed at finding common ground and workable solutions for the benefit of the country and its people.
The engagement signals an effort by both sides to open dialogue despite ideological differences, particularly on matters affecting education, language policy, and social cohesion.
