Godrich Gardee Opens IPID Case Over Allegations in Daughter’s Murder

Former Economic Freedom Fighters Secretary-General Godrich Gardee has opened a case with the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) following serious allegations made by Daphney Manamela.

Allegations of Police Protection

Manamela alleged that certain police officers may have protected the individual responsible for the murder of Gardee’s daughter, Hillary Gardee.

Gardee has since called for a full investigation into the claims.

Officers Named in the Case

The complaint reportedly names the following officers:

  • Major General Botsotso Moukangwe
  • Sergeant Jacob Mothibe Chego
  • Major General Doran Xaba

They are alleged to have been involved in misconduct related to the handling of the case.

Further Claims Emerge

Additional reports have suggested that another police officer may have assisted a suspect in evading arrest, raising further concerns about internal conduct within law enforcement.

Investigation Underway

IPID is expected to investigate the allegations, which have not yet been tested in court.

The developments have renewed public scrutiny around the case and raised questions about accountability within the police service.
