New allegations have emerged in the ongoing investigation into the killing of late musician and businessman DJ Sumbody, with close associate DJ Vettys making claims about possible links to organised crime and a missing drug consignment.
DJ Vettys, whose real name is Seunkie Mokubung, has submitted an affidavit alleging that DJ Sumbody’s death is connected to a disputed consignment allegedly worth around R200 million.
Claims Around Missing Consignment
According to the allegations, the consignment was initially seized by police and later allegedly stolen from a SAPS evidence storage facility in Port Shepstone.
DJ Vettys claims that the chain of events surrounding the missing consignment led to tensions involving several individuals linked to the underworld and business circles.
Alleged Links Between Business and Underworld Figures
He further alleges that DJ Sumbody introduced a Cape Town underworld figure, referred to as Stanfield, to rapper Thulani “Heavy Pablo” Msimang.
It is claimed that Msimang later attempted to sell cocaine allegedly linked to the stolen consignment.
These allegations also suggest connections between business partnerships and nightlife ventures, including involvement in Cape Town-based entertainment establishments.
Claims of Threats and Survival
In the affidavit, Vettys also claims that he survived an attempt on his life. He further alleges that businessman Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala warned him that he was also being targeted.

The claims form part of ongoing developments in the high-profile investigation into DJ Sumbody’s killing, which remains unresolved.
Authorities have not publicly confirmed the allegations, and none of the claims have been tested in court.
