The uncle of Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, Lt. Col. Andries Matlaila, has praised her eight-year-old child for alerting the family after noticing that their mother had not returned from her usual run at the expected time.
Matlaila said the child was familiar with Moselakgomo’s routine and knew approximately when she normally returned home after going out for a run.
When Moselakgomo did not return at her usual time, the child informed other family members, raising the first alarm about her absence.
Matlaila commended the eight-year-old for being observant and immediately notifying the family when the routine changed.
The family subsequently began looking for Moselakgomo after it became clear that she had not returned home.
