Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt following the murder of 57-year-old Maphoko Malatji, whose body was discovered inside a house in Matipane, outside Tzaneen.
Officers from Mokwakwaila SAPS in the Mopani District responded to a murder complaint at approximately 11:00 on Saturday, 12 September 2026. Emergency medical personnel declared Malatji dead at the scene.
Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said officers found her body in a pool of blood.
As part of the investigation, police have appealed to Simon Makeya to come forward and assist detectives. They are also asking anyone who knows his whereabouts to contact them.
“Members of the public who may know his whereabouts or may assist with the investigation are urged to immediately report such information to the police.”
Ledwaba made the appeal as officers continued investigating the circumstances surrounding Malatji’s killing.
