The family of missing Gauteng woman Elizabeth Mokolo Moselakgomo has urged the public to stop circulating unverified information as it awaits confirmation regarding a body discovered in Kempton Park.
Moselakgomo, 38, affectionately known as “Tsontso”, disappeared after leaving her home in Rhodesfield for a run on Wednesday afternoon.
An unidentified woman’s body was subsequently found near York Street on Saturday. However, the body has not officially been identified as that of Moselakgomo.
Family spokesperson Dawn Gauden said the injuries sustained by the deceased and the late hour at which the body was discovered prevented the family from conducting an immediate identification.
“The body was later taken to the state mortuary, where Elizabeth’s family and other relatives will proceed with the identification on Monday.”
Gauden appealed to members of the public to allow the formal identification process to take place before sharing claims about Moselakgomo’s fate.
“The family is appealing to the public to refrain from sharing any unverified or unconfirmed information.”
Until the identification process has been completed and authorities issue an official confirmation, Moselakgomo remains classified as a missing person.
