Court Orders LPC to Reinstate Advocate Malesela Teffo After Acquittal

The Legal Practice Council (LPC) has been ordered to re-enrol Advocate Malesela Teffo after he was acquitted on all six charges that led to his removal from the roll of advocates in 2023.

On 20 July 2026, the court cleared Advocate Daniel Malesela Teffo of all the charges brought against him by the LPC, paving the way for his return to legal practice.

Teffo was struck from the roll of advocates in 2023 following disciplinary proceedings instituted by the Legal Practice Council. However, after successfully challenging the matter, the court ruled that the LPC must reinstate him and restore his name to the roll of advocates.

Notably, Advocate Teffo represented himself throughout the proceedings.

The ruling marks a significant legal victory for Teffo, allowing him to resume practising as an advocate after nearly three years off the roll.
