Residents of Kagiso were left horrified after a young man was allegedly found at Kagiso Cemetery digging up the grave of baby Gugulethu Platjie.
According to community members, the man allegedly exhumed the child’s remains and claimed that he had been instructed in a dream to carry out the act.
Residents say the grave was identified as belonging to baby Gugulethu Platjie. They further allege that the child’s remains were found outside the grave and had been severely disturbed and damaged.
The incident has sparked outrage and shock throughout the community, with many residents calling for a thorough police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged grave disturbance.
Community members are also appealing for the Platjie family to be urgently informed about the incident.
Authorities have not yet released an official statement on the matter.
