Actress Rami Chuene Confirms SABC Will Pay Her Repeat Fees for Giyani: Land of Blood

South African actress Rami Chuene has revealed that the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) will be paying her repeat fees for her work on the television drama Giyani: Land of Blood.

In a statement shared on 19 May 2026, Chuene said she had officially received communication from the broadcaster confirming payment for repeats of the show.

According to the actress, all the necessary paperwork has already been completed and submitted, and she is now awaiting payment.

Chuene said she decided to speak publicly about the matter to encourage fellow actors and actresses to understand that repeat fees are a rightful entitlement when productions are rebroadcast.

“So you know, my dear thespians, that this is what is truly due to us,” she said.

The actress also expressed appreciation to the SABC for recognising the payment, while expressing hope that all actors whose shows are repeated on television are also receiving their repeat fees.

Her statement has reignited conversations around fair compensation for actors, particularly regarding residual or repeat payments in South Africa’s television industry.
