A Bangladeshi shopkeeper, identified as Nazrul Khalashi, was shot and killed during a deadly attack at his business premises in Phoenix, near **Durban>, on Friday night.
According to reports, armed men stormed the shop and opened fire on Khalashi, fatally wounding him at the scene.
Emergency responders and police were called to the premises, where the shopkeeper was declared dead.
At this stage, the motive behind the killing remains unknown, and police are continuing investigations to determine what led to the attack and whether robbery or another motive may have been involved.
The incident has raised renewed concerns over violent crime targeting business owners in parts of KwaZulu-Natal.
