Former Outlaws actress Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku has publicly accused co-star Bonko Khoza of sexually assaulting her during the filming of a scene for Red Ink, produced by Bomb Productions, in September 2023.
Nirvana, who played Sihle Biyela in Season 1 of Outlaws before being replaced in Season 2, says the alleged incident occurred while shooting an intense scene in which Khoza allegedly “got carried away”, resulting in what she describes as a sexual violation.
In a series of posts, Nirvana shared screenshots of emails allegedly sent by her management to Desiree Markgraff, a producer at Bomb Productions, expressing concern over how the matter was handled.
According to Nirvana, she had initially been prepared to move on from the matter on condition that Bonko Khoza issued an apology letter, but claims that no apology was ever received.
In the emails, Nirvana alleged that clear boundaries had been communicated multiple times before filming and claims a director allegedly witnessed Khoza admitting wrongdoing after the incident.
She further questioned why the specific close-up shot where the alleged violation occurred was reportedly removed from the final edit, arguing that this suggested concern from production.
Nirvana also claimed that production executives and directors allegedly told her after the incident that Khoza’s conduct was “unacceptable” and “unprofessional”, and assured her the matter would be dealt with.
She further alleged that messages sent to her after filming expressed concern over what had happened and promised that the incident would be handled appropriately.
In one of the messages she shared publicly, Nirvana also raised concerns about set safety, saying a real knife had allegedly been used during filming, questioning whether dangerous conduct would have been excused as simply being “in character.”
Nirvana says the experience has permanently changed her relationship with the entertainment industry and that she has now quit acting, saying viewers will never see her on traditional media again, although she may explore alternative ways to use her talent.
At this stage, these remain serious public allegations made by Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku.
At the time of publishing, Kurrently had reached out to both Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku and Bonko Khoza for comment regarding the allegations. However, no response had been received from either party.
