Police have arrested two women who were seen in a viral social media video allegedly playing with firearms, following an investigation in Thembisa.
According to police, officers tracked down and arrested the women after the video began circulating online, raising concerns over the handling of firearms.
Authorities also arrested the men linked to the two firearms seen in the video. During investigations, police allegedly discovered that the guns were unlicensed, leading to additional charges.
In another shocking twist, police say the men were also found in possession of a stolen vehicle, further escalating the seriousness of the case.
The arrests come amid growing concern over the glorification of firearms on social media and the illegal possession of weapons.
Police are expected to continue investigations as the suspects prepare to face charges linked to illegal firearm possession and possession of a stolen vehicle.
