Lekompo artist Shebe Maburna has been denied bail for the third time, despite his legal team presenting what they described as new facts before the court.
During the latest bail application, Maburna’s lawyers argued that circumstances had changed, citing the birth of his child, the risk of eviction due to unpaid rent, and the need for an urgent leg operation.
They told the court that the eviction could leave the newborn without accommodation, while also raising concerns about Maburna’s medical condition.
However, the magistrate dismissed these arguments, ruling that the issues presented did not qualify as new facts.
According to the court, the circumstances raised by the defence already existed at the time of the initial bail application and could have been presented earlier.
As a result, the court found no basis to reconsider its previous decision, leaving Maburna to remain in custody as the case continues.
