One Dead, Two Injured in Johannesburg CBD McDonald’s Shooting

A shooting inside a McDonald’s in the Johannesburg CBD has left one man dead and two others wounded, in yet another incident of violence in the city centre.

The shooting took place at the corner of Small and Jeppe Streets, where three men were reportedly targeted while inside the restaurant. According to initial reports, the victims are believed to be Ethiopian nationals, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.

Witnesses say gunshots rang out inside the busy fast-food outlet, sending customers and staff scrambling for safety as panic spread through the area.

Emergency services responded to the scene, where one man was declared dead, while the two others were taken for medical treatment.

At this stage, the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no arrests have been confirmed.

The incident adds to growing concerns about safety in the Johannesburg CBD, particularly in areas with high foot traffic and business activity.
