Three police officers have appeared in court after being accused of accepting a bribe to release undocumented foreign nationals in Evaton.
Officers Named
The accused are:
- Monyane Booyzen Lebeko (46)
- Mmarena Malasenya (27)
- Peter Easyboy Machama Kumalo (50)
Allegations
It is alleged that the officers:
- Released individuals who had been arrested for being in the country illegally
- Accepted a R1,000 bribe in exchange for their release
