Acting Police Minister Issues Strong Warning Over Attacks on Foreign Nationals

Acting Minister of Police Firoz Cachalia has come out strongly against recent attacks targeting foreign nationals, including citizens from Ghana, in South Africa.

Government Condemns Violence

In a firm statement, Cachalia:

  • Condemned the attacks and rising tensions
  • Described the violence as unacceptable and unlawful
  • Emphasised the need to protect all people living in the country

“We Will Go After Everyone Involved”

The Acting Minister warned that law enforcement will not only target those directly involved in the attacks, but also:

  • Individuals who incite or organise violence
  • Those who support or encourage such acts

Police have been instructed to tighten operations and make arrests where necessary.
