24-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Strangled to Death, Body Found Hidden Under Boyfriend’s Bed

The family of Anele Nelisiwe Mzila is mourning the loss of the 24-year-old woman whose body was allegedly found hidden beneath a bed at her boyfriend’s home in KwaMashu.

According to reports, Anele was last seen on 28 April 2026 after being dropped off at her boyfriend’s residence following work.

After she could no longer be contacted, concern began to grow among her family and loved ones.

Days later, on 2 May 2026, the search for Anele came to a tragic end when her lifeless body was allegedly discovered concealed underneath a bed inside her boyfriend’s house.

It is alleged that the young woman was assaulted and strangled before her death.

The shocking circumstances surrounding the discovery have sparked outrage on social media, with many South Africans demanding justice for Anele and expressing concern over the country’s ongoing crisis of violence against women.

Police arrested Anele’s boyfriend and charged him with her murder.

The accused has denied the allegations and was subsequently granted bail of R3,000. The matter is expected to return to court as investigations continue.

For Anele’s family, however, the focus remains on a young life cut short under tragic circumstances and the hope that the truth surrounding her death will emerge during the court process.
